5th International Symposium on Phospholipids in Pharmaceutical Research

The 5th International Symposium on Phospholipids in Pharmaceutical Research, organized by the Phospholipids Research Center e.V., was held in Heidelberg from 18 to 19 September 2017. As at previous symposia, some 170 researchers from all over the world met at this congress.

During the two-day event, the first Thudichum Life Award was bestowed on a renowned scientist in the field of phospholipid research. Dr. Rebmann presented the prize to Professor Dr. Daan Crommelin in recognition of lifetime achievements.

As in 2015, this year’s Thudichum Award again went to a young researcher. The 2017 winner hails from the city of Rotterdam in Holland. Dr. Tom van Rooij was presented with the €5,000 award.

The three best poster presentations were also awarded a prize by the Academic Advisory Council of the Research Center. The happy winners received €500 each.
